Window trick

I don’t know about you, but not all the homes I work with have picture perfect windows. In fact many have less than ideal windows in terms of size or architectural elements to work with. But sometimes you have to make lemonade out of lemons so here’s a little trick I like to use when you are working with less than ideal window size. And PS, this took me less than 1 hour to make by following simple instructions for making a window valence box.

Have a look at this little home office. The window is pretty nondescript. It’s not a great size, it doesn’t have a beautiful vista to look out of, but with the simple trick of hanging the window treatment considerably higher than the window actually reaches, you trick the eye into thinking the window is much larger than it actually is. And with the explosion of lovely blooms this fabric provides, it distracts from the not so exciting brick wall it looks out.

Don’t know about you, but I’m inspired!

So very beautiful! It’s bright and brings light into the room. I’ve also noticed a mirror on the wall and it adds to the space. Great work Cindy!

Adding some finishing touches to the living room at #cmiprojectfairlawn and I’m swooning over this new @tonicliving floral fabric. Comes in navy too! Remember that fun orange headboard @restylestudioto was working on last week? Well she's done and installed and pretty darn cute if I do say so myself. FOR SALE: Brand new, custom drapery panels made with @caitlinwilsondesign English Garden fabric. Sometimes things just don't work out and these weren't right for a recent client project. They are stunning and would be terrific in a variety of spaces - girls bedroom, living room, etc. Each panel measures 48"W x 96.5"L but could be easily altered to suit your space. DM me if interested!! 📷@kmtorrey I love seeing my crazy ideas come to life! Thanks to the very talented Andrea @restylestudioto this headboard is going to be a stunner in my girls room! Some room sneak peaks in stories. #Repost @restylestudioto (@get_repost)
