Just another site

After much nudging and encouragement from friends and family, I’ve finally decided to start my own Toronto based decorating business. I’ve been doing it for myself for as long as I can remember and have found that I really love beautiful spaces but more than that I love transforming things. I have a knack for buying the ugliest house on the block just so that I can really make it my own by changing everything about it. The downside to this is that I am constantly living with renos but that’s another story.

What I’ve come to realize is that I actually really like to be part of the process. Many of my projects have included a DIY component (partly out of necessity as budget is often tight) but more often because I like the challenge. The funny thing is that with each project I take on, I find that I’m more capable than I realized. Sewing a pillow isn’t as tricky as I thought nor is making drapes or box valences or even upholstering and refinishing furniture. What a slippery slope….I’m now that creepy lady picking up your old furniture on garbage day. But I kind of love seeing what I can make of it.

I look forward to sharing my misfires as much as my successes and will hopefully provide some inspiration to you in one form or another!

First Saturday in 9 weeks that I could sleep in and I’m still up at 6am! Oh well, at least the newspaper was at the door and I didn’t have to start my day by packing lunches! I love ski season but I love it equally when it’s over! Happy Saturday friends. After being away the last 9 weekends I’m SO looking forward to staying home and getting caught up on everything that’s been left unfinished at home. Like art in this bathroom. I haven’t found anything I love yet so if you have artists you love please send me your suggestions! TGIF! Wow it was a week!!! 😳 But meeting with my client at #cmiprojectroe certainly lifted my spirits this afternoon! I love working with clients who are willing to trust and take a little risk to maximize results. Painting this living room navy and scoring some terrific vintage leather chairs @elle_and_eve along with @restylestudioto recovering her existing sofa brings this room new life. And proves that you don’t have to necessarily shop the showrooms to get a space that is warm and inviting and most importantly reflects you. Happy weekend all!! 🍷🍷 Thanks for the 💗 @urbanwalls #Repost @urbanwalls with @get_repost
We love those tween transition rooms! @cindymckayinteriors paired our Gold Irregular Dots with boho accents and pops of pink to achieve the perfect space for a little girl who's growing up! #thesearemyurbanwalls
